INCUS Performance and David McNamee begin the start of a relationship in which the IRONMAN athlete will act as brand ambassador and advisor, with the partnership promoting and further developing the INCUS | Nova tool.
INCUS Performance are delighted to welcome Scottish long-distance triathlete David McNamee to the team. Alongside David acting as a brand ambassador he is joining INCUS as a product development advisor; his product feedback will be key for the further development of the tool for use with high-performance athletes.
The INCUS | Nova is a wearable analytics tool that sits unobtrusively between the shoulder blades, allowing for unrivalled data across all three disciplines involved in triathlon. Originally developed for swimming the INCUS Nova can provide detailed metrics of a stroke, including body roll, pitch and velocity gain. In September 2020 the device will accept wireless updates for Phase 1 of integrations for running performance allowing access to important metrics such as running power, take off acceleration and landing decelerations. Careful monitoring of these data points can not only improve efficiency and speed, but can also be used to assess recovery and fatigue.
David will be using the INCUS Nova device to support him with a comprehensive range of data and analytics throughout his training and racing to improve his performance ahead of taking on the IRONMAN World Championships in 2021. A two time podium finisher of this prestigious event held in the lava fields of Hawaii, David will be looking to join the elusive sub-8 hour finishers club and cement himself in the history books.
David commented “I’m so excited to start working with the INCUS Performance team. Being able to have all the training data at my fingertips after every session will prove invaluable in my quest to win the Kona World Championships. Nobody puts more pressure on me than myself for the big day in Hawaii, so being able to know exactly how my training has been progressing will fill me with confidence.“
INCUS Performance are really excited to be part of McNamee’s development over the coming years. “David is a great asset for the team to be working with. He is an incredibly hard working and talented athlete” said Chris Ruddock, Founder of INCUS Performance “We hope that the analytics he gets from his daily training with the INCUS Nova will help make the difference to become the best IRONMAN athlete in the World. As we say at INCUS, the medal is in the detail!”
